After we left the metropolis of Budapest, the remainder of the Eastern Europe Tour was really laid back. We arrived in Croatia and visited Plitvice Lakes National Park. This was a great walking tour through a water wonderland. Next stop was the Island of Rab. The island was nothing less than spectacular. We took a ferry to the island–bus and all. The weather before and during the crossing was “miserable”–pouring rain, windy and “semidiurnal tides” of the Adriatic Sea. Once we arrived in Rab, it was like arriving on an island paradise. The sites were amazing. Pat swam in the sea. Roman ruins were everywhere. We loved the island.
