We took the trip to Sussex inlet etc., returned to Sydney then flew to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. This was our opportunity to get certified as Scuba Divers and to take several excursions into the jungles of Australia. Weather in Cairns was almost unbearably hot and humid. The first thing that we had to do was find a store that sold hats. We also needed to find a clinic for a physical exam before we were enrolled in the Scuba class. Kathy and I had always wanted to be certified–and we were, but when we went on a trip out to the “Reef” we were so exhausted that we decided to only snorkel. Unfortunately, we did not follow up on the Scuba diving, but still love to snorkel.
